Beth Bares has a unique talent for taking the paranormal and making it seem normal and plausible. Her characters, their conflicts and emotions, are innately human, despite their unique abilities, responsibilities and histories. Your journey into the world she's created is fast paced and will leave you waiting impatiently for the next book in the series. ...DanaRae Pomeroy, Author and Editor
I'm so glad to be the first to leave a review for this book. Let me start by saying being a first time author brings so many challenges and the fear of how you'll be accepted. If that was the case with Beth Bares, you would never know. Her debut novel will have you putting everything else aside to finish this book. It's fast paced, mysterious, romantic, and very well written. I'm so glad she didn't stop at one! With this being a trilogy, readers will have plenty of time to escape into the world Bares created. CAN'T WAIT!! Be sure to mark this new talent as one to watch. I'm sure she has more great novels tucked away in her creative mind. ... Laura Burks, author ALTERED, a YA Paranormal Romance (reviewed on www.goodreads.com)
Beth Bares is a story telling genius! I could not put this book down for an instant! I had to know what she was going to do next. The picture she paints with her characters is so intoxicating that you feel as if you might wake up with a hangover the next morning. I mean this in the most positive of ways! She tastefully tells a spell binding romance of her main character Elizabeth and her main man Andrew. But do not be mistaken! This is not a book of just a typical love story! The twists and turns that take you through this interesting paranormal world make you yearn to be a part of it! I cannot wait for the second book to be released! And I cannot wait to read more from this talented author who takes you on a ride through her mind that is only thought of in dreams! :) ... Ashley Louise (Amazon.com review)
This book left me breathless from beginning to end. To say that I enjoyed this written work of art would be a total understatement. If you definitely want a great book to settle down and drift away with, this is the one. I can't wait to read the next installment. This is one of my new favorite authors! Dreams of Reality rocked my actual reality! ...jucasthelucas (Amazon.com review)

Bares keeps you glued to the pages with a fast paced, romantic, exciting paranormal world. I understand the second book in this trilogy will be available in July. I cannot wait for Bares' next GREAT READ! ...Jenn Jenn (Amazon.com review)
An absolutely delicious read!!!devoured it and hunger for the next serving. The characters and plot are well developed and became friends immediately. This is an author to be placed on your watch list. ...Pamela (Amazon.com review)
Dreams of Reality is a fantastic story, and I’m very excited that this is the start of a new trilogy. This story is very well written, the pace is perfect, and the plot is so engaging that this book is very hard to put down. The story line keeps you hanging from the beginning to the end, which totally triggered my need to devour this story as soon as possible. I couldn’t wait to find out when Elizabeth would be told about her mark and see the revealing of her magical powers. On top of secrets, some very cool magical powers, and a new world that has just opened to Elizabeth, we get to see Elizabeth as a normal girl who attracts the love of James and Andrew’s, which adds a layer of love, friendship, and romance that I really sank my teeth into.
Elizabeth and James are my favorite characters. James is Elizabeth’s best friend and is madly in love with Elizabeth. He is unconditionally loyal to Elizabeth, and that’s a quality that I fell in love with. I enjoyed Elizabeth’s character so much because she is a normal girl who is confident enough in herself to take a leap of faith and see where life takes her. In fact, my favorite scene is when Elizabeth discovers her seventh power and slams guys to the wall. I laughed so hard at that part. Elizabeth was definitely kicking butt.
This is the first novel that I’ve read by Beth Bares and it certainly won’t be the last. I’m completely hooked to this trilogy and I’m looking forward to reading what happens next! ...Zee (Firepages Romance Review)
I really am not an avid reader, but I could NOT put this book down. I didn't think I was going to survive until the next one came out, but I did, and now I can't put it down! ... Mandy N. I'm so pleased to have Beth Bares, the author of the Dreams Trilogy, join me here on Bookfever for an interview! If you would like to check out my review of Dreams of Reality, you can do it here. Now on to the interview... :D
Welcome to Bookfever, Beth and thanks so much for doing this interview with me!
You are so welcome and thanks for having me. I really appreciate the opportunity.
1. Who or what inspired you to write The Dreams Trilogy?
Actually my inspiration came in the form of a hurricane. My family and I were stuck without electricity for more than a few days and unfortunately, I didn’t have any new books to keep me company, so I decided to write my own book. Haha. I found a pen and a notebook and to my surprise, the words started flowing. When the electricity was restored, I transferred my notebook to my computer and kept writing. It has been so much fun.
2. Is there a message in your novels that you want your readers to grasp? Even though the individuals in my books have paranormal characteristics, their story isn’t about what they can and can’t do – magically or physically. It’s about being accepted for who you are. Everyone is looking for that special someone to love and care for. Imagine how boring life would be if we were all the same.
3. What was the hardest part of writing your books?
The hardest part for me was the ending. I can tell you, I rewrote the ending more than a few times.
4. Do you have any favorite characters in your books, if so, who and why? Wow, that’s a hard one. I love all of my characters. They are sincere, caring, cocky, funny and full of them selves. But I guess my favorite is my heroine, Elizabeth. She grows up a lot in the series. Her life is centering around one thing, her writing. In the series, Elizabeth is a best selling paranormal romance author. She lives her life through her stories, has no social life and has never dated, much less have a relationship. She is very independent and stubborn. If you’ll pardon the cliché, she really does come full circle and blossoms into an incredibly strong and delicate young lady.
5. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books? This is a really good question and also a very funny one. Actually the most surprising thing was getting my characters to be quiet. I know that statement should be sending the men in white coats after me, but it’s true. I didn’t start out wanting to write a series. Finally by the time I was three fourths of the way finished with the third and final book, my characters were barely whispering. haha
Hello Beth, thank you so much for agreeing to do this interview. It is a pleasure to have the chance to get to know more about you and your writing. First tell us about your newest novel and why you decided to write it.
Hey Kitty, I’m so happy to be chatting with you. I love Great Minds. There is so much going on here. It’s exciting to read about up and coming authors and of course the veterans.
My debut novel is, Dreams of Reality. It is book 1, in my paranormal romance series, The Dreams Trilogy. Elizabeth, my heroine is a romance author. Because of her unusual dreams, she has written several best-selling novels. But, without warning she begins to have daytime visions and soon her dreams and visions become reality. Although, several people in her life know exactly the reason for all the craziness. It’s after she receives the shock of her life that her world collides with what she thought to be fantasy for a very long time. She doesn’t know whether to be thrilled or totally freaked out. One thing is for sure, Elizabeth does not intend to do what she doesn’t want to do. Taking orders from some very macho egotistical men isn’t her cup of tea.
There are some colorful individuals and then some very serious, dramatic characters. My series isn’t your typical “Paranormal” novel. My characters have special abilities, but, the story doesn’t revolve around what they can do. It’s more about who they are as individuals. They are quite entertaining.
The ‘writing bug’ it me after Hurricane Gustav. If anyone out there is from Southern Louisiana, you know what’s it’s like to be without electricity. Not only is it miserable with 99 degree heat and 100 percent humidity, but it’s very boring. Every book tucked away on my bookshelves, had been read at least twice. So I decided to write my own story to occupy my time. By the time, our power came back (after 8 days) I had fallen in love with some brand new characters who were taking me on a very different and unique journey. Needless to say, I became best friends with my keyboard!
Tell us about some of your hobbies, things you like to do in your spare time.
Well, of course reading is at the top of my “love to do” list, especially on the beach. I absolutely love lying on the beach with a good book. Sitting next to the water as the waves hit my feet is so relaxing.
I love LSU Baseball. My husband and I have had season tickets for years.
Spending time with my family is always fun and lunch with friends is always on my calendar.
What is the one most rewarding thing in your life right now?
I know this probably sounds cliché’, but that would have to be my book(s). It’s just so overwhelming but so incredibly exciting at the same time. I have received so many awesome comments about the first book.
When reading for pleasure do you tend to stick to the same genre you write or do you like to read other genres as well?
I really like reading all types of genres. I like books with humor and wit, but also, a good suspense is nice too. However, there is nothing like a great love story, so no matter the genre, there has to be romance in there.
Describe your current release in two sentences? Elizabeth receives the shock of her life and, doesn't know whether to be freaked out or thrilled her dreams are in fact reality.
Please describe your writing environment. I have an extra bedroom in my house that serves for just about everything I'd like to keep but don't have room for anywhere else. My computer sits next to an exercise bike, a boxed Christmas tree, a bookshelf and free weights. I'm sorry to say the bike and weights stay at a safe distance.
What are you working on? I'm currently working on two stand alone humor romances. One is paranormal and one is very human.
What do you feel blessed with? Oh my gosh. That's easy...my children. Although I've been happily married to a wonderful and supportive husband, my son, 25 and my daughter, 20 are my life.
What was your childhood ambition? Believe it or not it wasn't an author. I wanted to be a nurse.
If you had to choose one person to have dinner with, who would it be? And why? Wow, another hard question. I think it would have to be Johnny Depp. He is the most fascinating and mysterious person. Such an incredible and diverse actor. Laura Bush would also be at the top of my list. She is so elegant and has such an enormous heart. However, on the lighter side, it would have to be comedian, Kathleen Madigan, Totally makes my side hurt from laughing.
